Personal Update.

Aka; Dizziness, Surgery, and why I have a love/hate relationship with doctors (especially ones who are trying to prove themselves).

I currently am having some pretty severe spells of overwhelming nausea and dizziness. It means that I'm only coherent for part of the day, and have a tendency to need to sit down heavily if up for too long. Last night, I got up to show my boyfriend where the pitcher was so he could fill it with water to take to the dogs. I was leaning against the small outcropping of wall between the living room and kitchen, and was overcome with so much nausea, I fell. Just kind of crumpled. That was fun.

Went to the surgeon's yesterday for a consult. The receptionist was bitchy. The nurse was a really nice guy. The resident was overeager, overconfident, and kind of a jerk. The surgeon was nice, but didn't overly sugarcoat things--which is something I like in a doc. He's done over 2000 of these operations in the past 20 years. The woman who booked my surgical appointment gave me tips on making things go quickly and smoothly.

All in all, I'm just happy to be doing something more proactive than waiting and hoping.

Surgery March 16. Let's just hope I can handle two weeks of this worsening existence. Let's all hope for it not to keep spiralling downward, ya?

  1. The upside is you finally have a coherent doctor. :3 The downside... gyah, health. At least the surgery's coming up! Just think of happy thoughts! Soon, you can exercise!
