A Softer World is an amazing site. Read through the archives. Some of them will make you smile, and some of them will break your heart. All of them are worth reading.
I was born in the 80's, and raised on much of it's pop culture. The Sunday Sweets from a couple weeks ago on Cake Wrecks showcases one of my favorite shows ever. Fraggle Rock. :'D
Best. Ad campaign. Ever.
This Avon product looks creepily like the T-Virus, of Resident Evil fame. It becomes creepier when you read about it's main ingredient, Hyaluronic Acid. This stuff seems like exactly the sort of thing the T-Virus could be created from. Freaky stuff.
Wow, talk about convenient.
Some art by Lostfish on CGUnit. The first four are card suits. It took me so long to see it, but once I did I fell even more in love with them. Very inspiring.
I want a set of these. I would sleep on them, in a big pile on the floor. Guarded by my very own skeletal dinosaur.
And finally, this is exactly the sort of thing I want to be a part of as a curator. Making the past come alive, inspiring children to imagine things that don't exist any more. I want to help show them how full of amazement the past is, if you only look at it. Seeing the way they interact with the puppet--and how into it the puppetmaster(s) are... It's more inspiring and heartwarming all at once to me than almost anything else I can think of. I want to be a part of causing that look of utter amazement. I want to help usher in the next generations of curators, explorers, and anthropologists. That is my ultimate goal, and the highest achievement I think I could reach in life--to inspire others to such a degree as that. To light a fire in their hearts that can warm them for years to come.
That's it for my catch up blogroll. The best of the best from the past couple of weeks.
