My cousin Matthew's birthday was the weekend before last. For him, I did an Iron Man card that just about killed me. For the life of me, I could not make something I thought looked right. This is attempt number 3? 4? Something like that. I'm actually pretty happy with the final result. I was never into Iron Man as much as other comic franchises as a kid, so I didn't have as clear an image in my head as I did for the Batman card. This was referenced from an old comic page. Colored in crayon, as most of my handmade cards are. I've gotten decently good at shading in crayon, I think--using principles I learn from fudging about in Photoshop with digital painting to make it better.
I need to start actually scanning these things, but I usually finish them an hour or two before I go to the party they're for, so I get a bit pressed for time. I'm a horrible procrastinator, sometimes. XD
